Life In Pictures, NOLA Night

Howdy friends, so Monday was our wedding anniversary and I wanted to surprise Travis with something special. Just like the way he surprised me with a trip to Houston for Valentine’s Day. You can read about that dream here.  We don’t really have the time to go anywhere extravagant or exotic for that matter. So I figured, why not a night out in our own backyard so to speak. We live 45 minutes from New Orleans, a magical, mystical, hot mess of a city. LITERALLY. So why not tour like a tourist in our home state.

I wanted this trip to be different, I didn’t want to stay at a Hilton, Hampton Inn, or any other generic hotel. I found some place magical. It’s called Hotel Royal. An 1827 creole townhouse on the corner of Royal Street, one block from Bourbon. Above is a shot of me by in the courtyard.

We had a deluxe balcony room.

We went to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, and the New Orleans Outlet River Walk.

We saw tons of beautiful art and stopped in a few local shops and boutiques.

There are SO many wonderful places to eat that I feel silly even making suggestions. We stopped in at the following places…

Crescent City Brewhouse

Café Maspero

Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse

CC’s Coffee House
