Time Keeper

Hey guys, today I am going to write about something I don’t normally mention much, but I think its an important aspect of not only style but fashion overall. Before cell phones, computers, and televisions people tracked time with clocks. Later pocket watches and then wrist watches. Times have changed to say the least, but now watches are seen as a fashion statement. I even had a friend once who wore a watch with a dead battery only for the appearance of it.  Regardless of the reason behind it, our culture loves wearing watches and they will remain an integral part of our society in regards to fashion.

So I want to share the story behind my watch. I hold on to most personal belongings for sentimental reasons. I will keep something until its falling apart at the seams. So its no surprise my watch is practically an antique in fashion years.

This Marc by Marc Jacobs beaut is my baby from New York. I got it in the summer of 2010 and have worn it everyday since! It was my big girl present to myself for being 21 and landing a dreamy internship at the corporate office of Burberry on Madison Avenue. I wanted something classic looking and I adore Marc Jacobs so the decision was easy. I have replaced the battery once and I think the next time it dies will be my cue to get a new one considering its slightly scratched and worn! I guess part of the reason I can’t let go is because of the memories I hold of it are so sweet.

I would love to know what your wrist candy is?

Thanks for reading, I love you for it.

until next time,

stay cute, stay sweet.

xoxo,

  1. Love your posts. ❤️ My prized wrist possession is a POW bracelet I wore during the Vietnam war. A few years ago I posted on a website about the bracelets and my POW ( a retired vice admiral) sent me a personal letter. They both mean so much to me.

    1. Gail, omgosh that is so heart warming to hear! Thank you for sharing and thanks for reading, how amazing. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! 😀

  3. Your watch is beautiful! I have never really fallen in love with a watch until this Christmas. I used to buy a one, wear it for a month and then forget about it, but this year I asked for a Michael Kors watch and it is the best thing I ever did! It looks so beautiful on my wrist and matches pretty much every outfit I wear. It makes me feel dressed up and I love catching a glimpse of it on my wrist throughout the day 🙂 It is rose gold and tortoiseshell and I like to wear it with my tan Pandora leather charm bracelet.

I’m really enjoying reading some of your posts – this is my first visit to your blog and I love it already! xx
